Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates roundup

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is released and the wait for your smart phone to get updated is at stake. There is no clear information on when Marshmallow will be rolled out for the different smart phones available in the market. Here we are with a few of them which will be supported by Marshmallow.
The Android updates involve a complex process which considers chip makers, Google, device makers, and carriers. It is a known fact that software updates always come with delays, errors, botched releases, slow rollouts and with variations based on device model, carrier and region.
If your phone is not in the below list, there is nothing to chaos since these lists are always not the final and it keeps getting updated or altered.


1. Nexus Marshmallow update
Google released the Android 6.0 for Nexus devices on October 5. The below devices are compatible for Marshmallow updates.

2. Samsung Marshmallow update
Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were the devices to receive Marshmallow updates initially on February 15.It is said that the below devices will also have the update delivered.

3. LG Marshmallow update
The T-Mobile update list revealed that LG G4, LG G3 and G4 Stylo will receive the update.  It is also rumoured that the newly launched V10 and G Flex 2 will also be added to the list. The mid range series of LG namely, Manga, Leon, Spirit, Bello are less expected to have the update.



4. Motorola Marshmallow update
Motorola is always in phase with the Android updates. It is quick, fast and adaptable with the android updates. For a change, it looks like Motorola has difficulties in delivering the update to some of its versions like the Moto E, Moto X (2013) and some carrier versions of the Moto X (2014). It is said that the update will be rolled out for devices with Snapdragon 410 powered versions in Latin, America, Europe, Canada and Asia. The list has excluded China.

The unlocked version of One A9 will receive all the android updates within every 15 days. It is indeed a great promise to keep up with. So let’s see how Motorola keeps the bigger promise.


6. Sony Marshmallow update
The official list of devices to receive Marshmallow is
                      T Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium
                      Xperia Z4 Tablet
                      Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
                      Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet
                      Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4
A message on the Sony website says that Sony Xperia Z3+, Z4 Tablet, C4, C5 Ultra, M4 Aqua and M5 will directly receive Android 6.0 skipping the android 5.1.1. The Marshmallow compatible list includes all the Xperia Z5 series. Marshmallow isn’t available for the 2013 Xperia Z1 and Z1 Compact and the older Xperia Z. Some of the mid rage devices of Sony will also be receiving the Marshmallow updates.


7. Huawei Marshmallow update
The Marshmallow updates for Huawei made it help in supporting its devices. This indeed was possible because of the Nexus program which involved Google and Huawei.

There is not much talk about Marshmallow among OnePlus devices. The first model of OnePlus which is one runs on Cyanogen OS and OnePlus two runs on Oxygen.


10. Asus Marshmallow update

11. Lenovo Marshmallow update
Lenovo declared only few devices for Marshmallow update and hasn’t rolled out the date of updates so far.

                      Lenovo Vibe P1 and Vibe S1 – update expected by June 2016
China:
                      K3 Note – March-April 2016
                      Vibe X3 – March-April 2016
                      Vibe P1 – March 2016
                      A7000 – April 2016
Rest of the world:

12. BlackBerry Marshmallow update
There’s only one Android device of BlackBerry and it looks like Marshmallow is not their cup of tea. It is said that BlackBerry Priv will receive Android 6.0 in near future.


13. Xiaomi Marshmallow update
Xiaomi Mi and Xiaomi Mi Note will receive the Marshmallow updates.


Other devices to receive Marshmallow updates are Micromax & Yu, Alcatel, Nvidia Shield Android TV, Original Nvidia Shield Tablet, Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 and Nvidia Shield Android TV.
